This piece of land was a Jesuit land called “Maryland”. Its river was called River Potempkin as the river running through the city of Rome in Italy. It was here in Jesuit Maryland that the new government of the United States was established. Now this area has it own government and its own flag. It does not belong to the United States, but still, it is from here that the laws of the nation are made. Strange, right?
